The UnBlogged July

July was a busy month, and I'm proud of how many posts I got around to posting.
Believe it or not, there were still many things that I didn't post at all.
Here are some things I actually have pictures of
If only I could get into the habit or recording every fun thing with pictures,
there'd be quite a bit more blog posts for you to read...
{Maybe it's a good thing that I forget to use my camera most of the time}

Shaded park time with our buddies

Snoballs have become our Tuesday routine after lunch and story time

I think this was C&K's first snoball visit

Cars2 and Super8 at the drive-in with Kris and her brother and sister and soon to be, brother in law

We got there early so the kids enjoyed playing and running around on the lawn before the movie started.

Light Saber action

Teeth cleaning for KennaKat at the dentist.

2 Very successful dentist visits for Ethylwolfe.
1 teeth cleaning and 1 tiny cavity filled.
No tears, no drama, just right.

Lots of slips and slides for KennaKat

The kids met their cousin B2

Swimming and Dinner @ K&P's place

Lots of silly underwater faces

CannonBalls and swimming for Ethylwolfe

Being a good mommy and helping her baby see out of the window.
This is what she does every time she brings a baby in the car :)

Pretending to be the story man at the library and reading to her babies.

Snoballs and service with P&K

Their second trip to Snoballs with us this month :)

Random picture taken by KennaKat at the snoball place of a passing semi
And that's the rest of our month, that we at least took pictures of.

Can you believe it's August???
3 of us will be turning a year older this month...
Good thing we don't celebrate B-days, or we'd be broke.
{Oh wait, we already are, ha}
Ethylwolfe will be 6, Hubster will be 29 {1 more year to old man status}, and I'll be 27.
I hope this weather eases up on us.
I noticed that for the next 10 days, there will be NO 100+ degree days...
Hopefully they are right.

Date Night, Dinners, Farmers Market

Do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together

There is nothing like sitting around and enjoying dinner with family and friends and we've been full of wonderful moments like that this week.

Lisa Pizza had us over to her place for some good food Wednesday night.
We had yummy tacos and good association.
Her sister Lori Story along with her roomies, were there.
Lisa played some awesome beats on the bass
The kids caught Fireflies
It was good times!

This weekend, Ana and Lani came to town.
Saturday, we visited the Farmer's Market, our first time this year.
Nani bought a HUGE bucket of blackberries and made some delicious blackberry cream pies.
Ana's belly has definitely poked out, I can't WAIT to meet my new niece!!
We hung out at M&G's until it was time for our date night.
The kids spent the evening playing with friends and we headed out for some one on one time!

We saw X-men.
{Much better than expected}
For dinner, we had African.
{Good, but definitely NOT real African food}
For dessert, we went to Brightleaf and tried blueberry cheesecake...
it was nasty {I guess NY spoiled us} so we traded it in for a Strawberry Crepe
A nice enjoyable evening with that guy I love :)

Sunday, We headed back over to M&G's
for dinner with family and friends.

I knew Z&D with their twin girls would be there
But Tricia's presence was a nice surprise.

We enjoyed good food, yuuummmy blackberry cream pie,
and good friends.

Ethylwolfe & ClaireBear were good buddies as per usual lately
and he made a crown of flowers for her hair.

The kids ended the night by catching fireflies.
The fireflies were aplenty and KennaKat caught about 20...
{no exaggeration}

The new week has already started with lots of fun, and more in store.
I can't wait to share more adventures and pictures.
Tah tah for now.

Hello there!

I know it has been a while since I have blogged, but what can I say, we've been busy!

April was a busy month for being in the ministry.  I got to work with almost every member of the family this month, which made it even more extra special.

P&K came around one Wednesday and worked with KennaKat, Lisa Pizza, and myself.  Followed by a lunch visit with Ethylwolfe.  That was a beautiful day and Ethylwolfe was very happy to see his aunt and uncle at his school! (Sorry, forgot to take pictures)

KennaKat and I joined Nani and Joann one Tuesday and that was a very fine morning.  Followed by lunch at one of our favorite Chinese eateries. (Again, forgot to use the camera)

To complete the fun, Bri and Nate came into town and we worked together for several hours on the last Saturday of the month.  Followed by some fantastic Pina Coladas and lunch provided by Nani.(Again, no images of proof)

Other service days were filled with visiting friends in other halls and getting to know members of my own congregation better.  It was a very joyful month, filled with BEAUTIFUL weather!

But that's not all our month had to offer...

Trips to the mall and lunch @ the pizza kitchen

Breakfast before school @ Ihop

Another haircut
Bye-bye 5 more inches of hair

Tower construction with Ethylwolfe

A day off of school means lunch with daddy @ Costco,
dessert @ LoYo, followed by running around ToysRUs

Kick Starting Date Night switch off
Watching 2 babies and 2 of my kid's best buds
~Smiling babies means Kid Night was a success~

Dessert from Guglhupf Bakery
and lots of hugs and kisses for Lani

Around Town, just us girls

Today KennaKat and I had originally planned to skip story time and spend the day in service.  But when we woke up, the howling wind and rain changed our minds.  We weren't really in the mood to go to the library and after hearing that our friends wouldn't be there, we decided to hit the town, just the two of us.

First up on the list was to enjoy an early lunch at the Foster's Market.  I had been planning on stopping by for a while now, it has been ages since I have eaten there.  But then, after reading this blog by my dear friend, who ate there just the other day, I couldn't get it out of my head.  My mom would eat there a lot when I was a kid and I thought it was so disgusting!  They have a lot of healthy choices and being the picky kid that I was, I would get so upset every time she would pick that place.  Now that my taste-buds have matured...{okay, those of you who know me well, know that I am using that term lightly....I now eat tomato and lettuce on my sandwich instead of just meat and cheese...} I enjoy the place much better.  KennaKat and I shared a roast beef sandwich on sourdough bread.  They offered rye bread, but seeing as how not all of my pickiness has quite left me, {the thought of rye makes me want to gag}...it's the smell and the seeds....don't laugh... I opted for the sourdough instead..

After enjoying our lunch and picking up a piece of candy from their large selection, we got in the car and headed to target for some window shopping.

After picking up a few dollar section items, including this notebook that KennaKat had to have.  You see, it's the Cheshire cat that Nani has in her room, it's one of the few things KennaKat is not allowed to bring home, therefore KennaKat attributes that cat as being Nani's cat, so she gets very excited every time she sees it around.

After browsing to the point of exhaustion at target {can we say "atleast an hour in the toy section alone") we went to explore a new craft supply store.  It's small, and things are more pricey than at Michaels and ACMoore, but I feel it's important to support the local businesses.  It's called Bull City Craft.  I found a few unique items to purchase for the kids.  In the back portion of the store, they have a craft center where you can purchase kits to make there with their help if you need.  The grand opening is this Saturday and they will have tons of giveaways and free crafts so you should check it out if you like that kind of thing :)
New Sketchbook for Ethylwolfe's art, blank postcards for kids to draw and send out, and soy rock crayons.

After the craft store, we went next door to a newish frozen yogurt shop.  It's called Local Yogurt, actually real yogurt that's frozen with active culture.  Delicious.  They had 4 flavors that change up every so often Plain, Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Burberry all very yummy and they have tons of toppings to put on top.  Fresh fruit being what I liked best.  KennaKat and I chose to share a plain with blueberries.  Very yummy.

So our day was complete.  The weather changed from cold, rainy and windy to down right BEAUTIFUL!  So, I regret not sticking it out with a long day in service.  I hear tomorrow is going to be beautiful, so we will be sure to not miss our second chance.

Love, The SpeckledKat

E Farm

Tuesday, Heather got up a group to tour E Farm.  E Farm is a little goat farm in Bahama/Rougemont.  The owner of the farm actually hosts dinners a Saturday a month on his farm house porch during the warm season.  They get a different local chef to come out and cook up some tasty local foods.  I would looove to try it some time.

The owner also hosts tours of the farm to groups that are interested.  The fee is $5 per person.  After hearing about the ages in our group, he changed it to just charging the adults, and after giving us the young child friendly, crazy run free tour, he didn't charge any of us anything.  A very kind man.

The tour started off in the cheese house.  He was in the process of making Goat Cheddar Cheese.  I was REALLY hoping to buy some, but I don't think any was ready as of yet.  Guess I'll just have to visit his stand at the Farmers Market in a few months.

He then showed the kids the chicken eggs from that morning

Next came the goats, they were excited!

We all brought crackers and the kids fed the goats

Jen even got to hold a baby goat!  It was only 3 days old!!
{She recommended the name Jennifer, I think it's the perfect fit}

Kittycat and Biscuit were the most into wanting to hold and touch each
and every furry cuddly animal on the farm

One of the sweet old dogs they have on the farm.  Kittycat loves little dogs, and this doggy was a sweety!

Biscuit loved her too!

 Going to visit the chickens

Run chickens RUN!

Kittycat was trying SO hard to pick up a chicken

Run chicken!

Done with the chickens now off to the bunny house.

----Didn't get any good shots in the bunny house.----

Last stop, DUCKS!

"Little teeny tiny baby duckies" -as Kittycat called them

Boy was looking really cute playing with the metal goats, but when I got ready for a shot, he moved.
I asked him to pose and he was most obliging.

Sawman on the stump

Kittycat on the stump.

It was such a pretty day, we picnic'ed on the farm.

Here are T and L after lunch getting in their tummy time.

More pictures were taken of all the kiddies, but these are the least fuzzy.
I really need to clean the lens --lots of tiny finger prints live there.
Can't wait to see the shots the other mommies got!

Thank you E Farm for entertaining our crazy kids on a beautiful early spring day!
I hope to return some day soon :)
