The newest member of the family

Welcome baby AJ!

Born on Monday, the day between KennaKat's bday and Nani and Papa's Anniversary!  All 8ib 2oz of her is completely adorable!
She looks like a slightly smaller version of her older sister when she was born.

KennaKat, Ethylwolfe, and myself headed up to VA Monday night to see her
We got there a few minutes after 9
Parked in the deck and started getting out
KennaKat was fast asleep/E had to use the bathroom/and my jaw hurt from the dentist
So we ended up just meeting Eitak at her place and calling it a night.

The baby snuggling had to wait until the next day.

Tuesday after having breakfast with Nani, Papa, and Deli,
we headed to Fresh Market to buy fresh flowers for the proud family.
Ethylwolfe and KennaKat each picked out their own flowers and wrote their own congrats card.

Poor E was sick so he wasn't allowed near the baby.
He was bummed and became quite bored during our baby snuggling hours.

KennaKat was in love with baby AJ.
Every few minutes she wanted to hold her.

The only shots of the proud parents were taken by KennaKat and they didn't come out too flattering, so I wont post them.  The family went home on Wednesday, even though Ana had a c-section.  Hopefully she is healing and feeling better.

I can't wait to see my newest niece again soon...hopefully next week!

After the hospital, I took the kids to chickfilet for a late lunch and play time before heading home.
While there, I got the call from hubby about the robbery.

I've been in a foul/melancholy mood all week.  Break-ins are exhausting.  I'm tired of having my stuff stolen and having to pay for repairs and stolen stuff.

I discovered that they stole ALL of my chick-flicks and my Hitchcock collection.
I'm quite angry about that.
What will I do without my extensive collection of every Jane Austen novel, movie ever made?
Yes, I'm quite angry.

I know that things can be replaced, but the process of replacing is very time consuming and expensive.

I am thankful that the family has never been harmed from a robbery and that we have never been home during one.  I try to focus on the important parts and not the downers but I'm completely
FED.UP.

Sorry to veer off topic there.

So I will leave you with this:

KennaKat is so in love with her new niece that the day after we came home, she played "baby AJ" ALL.DAY.LONG.  There were probably 58 diaper and 83 outfit changes. 105 times I had to help rewrap the baby in her swaddling blanket.  She sang her to sleep, brought her with us every time we left the house.  Tucked and re-tucked her into bed many times over.  This girl is quite taken with her new niece, I think they will be great buds!

WHY???

I need a t-shirt that says
"I got my house broke into 4 times and all I got was this lousy t-shirt"

After spending the night out of town and getting snuggles from my brand new adorable niece,
I received a call from my husband saying "don't hurry to come home...we got broken into again"
"ARGHAHAHARRRRRRRRRRGHGRR!" is what my mind was saying and it's not even English.

The most retarded details are as follows:
1.  They removed planks from our fence, came into our yard WITH OUR GIANT DOG, broke the kids window and entered the house.
2.  The GIANT DOG didn't eat them.
3.  The GIANT RETARDED DOG remained in the fence until hubby came home, and THEN she decided to get out.
4.  They stole little things rather than our TV.
{Wii, DVD player, hubby's new watch, my jewelry, movies, and games}
5.  Two other neighbors were robbed, including the large ladies who live in the tent while storing stuff in their shed.  What did they have in their shed?  Armor and body guard stuff, including possibly guns.
No, we do not want neighbors like that.
6.  They completely trashed the house.. dumping all drawers, my art bins full of random bits and pieces, just made a total mess of it all, and didn't clean it up.

Out of all miseries that come my way, I find it important to look a the humorous side.

Humor points are as follows:
1.  For my Anniversary present, hubby gave me a netbook, it's awesome, it's small, it's transportable, it's not  a desktop.  So, anyway, when we went camping this weekend, I decided to leave it home.  Hubby decided to hide it 'in case of a break-in' and when we got home, I asked him where he hid it.  Finally he said he put it on top of our DVD player.  I told him that was a terrible place because if we got robbed, they would find it because they would steal the DVD player.  He said nobody would take that thing because it wasn't worth stealing.  And guess what they stole 2 days later?  The DVD player!!!  Somehow saying "Told ya so!" Isn't that rewarding.  I'm glad I brought my new computer up to VA.

2.  A few weeks ago, a friend of mine was commenting on my jewelry and said that she likes everything I have. {That's a lovely complement because I don't have a lot, and I worry that I always buy the wrong things}  She said that if my house was ever broken into and only things like my jewelry were stolen, I'd know who to blame.  And guess what was stolen...yep!  Well, I asked, and she said it wasn't her.

3.  Hubby didn't bother calling the cops because he was just so fed up with everything and the uselessness of the cops in situations like this. {He was unaware of the other break-ins at the time.}  After I told my neighbors about the break-in, they decided to snoop around the place in the woods, and found that they were robbed too, so they called the cops.  Anyway, one of the cops came over to investigate our break-in even though we weren't too thrilled.  He asked me if I had the serial # on the wii, and it turns out we did.  He was so excited and said "This right here is what we need, this could blow the case wide open."  Nice enthusiasm bud, but no, it wont.  You'll file the report and that will be the end of the story. Just like all the other times.  We got a nice laugh out of it after he left.

Thus concludes the end of my day, I hope yours was better.  And remember, always try to get a good laugh out of those stinky situations in life, it makes it just a little bit better, and that's what we need until Jehovah pulls the plug on this nasty system.

Pilot Mountain Camping

This weekend we headed out to Pilot Mountain to camp with friends.

I thought I had been camping here before, but apparently, I was completely wrong.
It was pretty chilly this weekend, so I didn't sleep well, I kept waking up to make sure the kids were warm and covered by their sleeping bags.
Also, I've had pretty bad experiences with air mattresses while camping so I refuse to use them now.  During my 3 hours of tossing and turning the first night I came to the conclusion that the ground is hard.  Just plain hard.
I know I know, it's ground breaking in the world of science.
I'll need to invest in sleeping pads before our next trip.
The nights were chilly, but the days were perfectly fall in the mid 60's.

This is MY little mountain

*Sigh* Well, we TRIED to get a nice family shot

I think I'll have a "moment" now

Little Miss Pouty

I'll just sit here and pout, leave me be

KFC came over and tried to cheer her up

What's that you say?  There's a PUPPY?!  Pouting's over, I'm coming!!!

Our campsite

As usual, I didn't get enough pictures.  I would have liked to get a nice group shot, but I didn't.  We had fun.  Got to know some friends we didn't know too well, and met some new ones.  The fire was nice.  There were lots of rocks and the kids did a lot of falling and exploring.  I was a nervous wreck!  And out of all the falling and getting hurt the kids did, I was the only one to fall and skin my knee.  Then it got infected and I limped around and whined the whole weekend.  We ate lots of smores.   Sat around the fire...a lot.  It was cold.  When we got home, I broke my rule and turned the heat on.  I know, only a week to go, and I caved.  Apparently, I'm a wimp.  But it felt sooo nice to wake up to a warm house today!  ahhh!  I can't wait to go camping again, it had been too long, {over a year} and that's not acceptable.

She's Four

To my little girl who just turned four,
I can't believe you are this old today,
It seems as just yesterday you came into this world.
All 9ib 3oz of you.
You were 2 weeks late,
I was determined to deliver you naturally,
And after the doctor set you on my stomach, you took my breath away{Literally}
My last thought before you entered the world was "This hurts! Get her out of me!"
And my first thought after you entered the world was "Oh, She's beautiful!"
Then I thought... "She's huge!"

My dear sweet girl, you are wonderful!
You have a wonderful personality, you're sweet, funny, kind, thoughtful.
You're a fast learner, you think of others, and you are a joy to call my own.
You're the most beautiful creature I've set eyes on.
Every time I see you, I'm in awe of how spectacular you are.
I love that you are mine, I love spending my days with you.
You are perfect in every way, as your mother, I can say so
You aren't afraid to run and get your hands dirty, you love playing with every boy toy you can get your hands on, but yet, you're completely girly, and you look fantastic in a tutu.
You're silly and you're fun!

I know, I know, picture overload here
Seriously, I could have sat here adding pictures all day,
looking back at who you were, and thinking of what you have become,
I miss you, I love you
I enjoyed you from the moment I met you, through every day until now
You are my sweetie and my best girl
I cannot WAIT to see the woman you become
and I love that I have a front row seat for every day in between now and then
I love you my dear girl, you are four and I can't believe it.
