Skipping School
Buddy missed a lot of days of school in the month of February. Many were from being sick. One however was due to Valentines Day. His school boasts how they do not involve themselves in holidays. Well, I guess they don’t consider celebrating valentines day as celebrating a “holiday”? But we do. Fortunately, his teacher knows this about us and the week before, she emailed me to let me know that Monday, they would be making Valentines boxes in the morning and in the afternoon they would be handing out valentines cards. She said if I wanted to keep Buddy out that day, that would be fine.
That Monday turned out to be a very nice day and D gathered the moms to the park. Buddy got to join us and spend the day with his friends.
One friend in particular this day.
He and CJ were practically inseparable. Half the time they were holding hands, the other half, Buddy was fighting JT for being mean to CJ. Which meant, lots of time outs.
I’m dreading how things will be in 10 years. Hopefully, we can count on the mom group to keep each other informed and “taddle” on our kids. That’s the only way we’ll be able to conquer them and stay sane.
