Old Times

A friend just posted this picture on Facebook from when I was a wee little girl.  I love old pictures and I'm so happy she found this one.
Brings me back :)

Starting from the left : Me, David, Stephanie

Who can look at this and tell me that KennaKat does not look like me?  I know she has M traits but she's definitely my little girl :)

Here's another one, from unassigned territory!

Left to right: my mom and she's holding me, my dad, Shelly
Down below: BS, BF, my sister Stephanie, BF, behind is my brother David, and far right is SF

SF was one of the most lively people that I have ever met.  She was a hoot and we had such a great time any time she was around.  She was my mom's best friend, so that was quite often.  Until they moved away I think all of our vacations were spent with them.  She was also the first person to spank me :) Shelly is also a big hoot so I'm sure this was probably one of the best unassigned territory trips EVER!

And this is one of me sitting in our old wagon that we had.

Ahhh memories!  Before my life got flipped upside down in my teen years, I really did have a great childhood.  I can't think of a single day that I wasn't full of happiness.  That's one of the things that I try my hardest to pass on to my kids, I want them to have a great joyful childhood!

Mod Podge Meets Doll house

Ever since I purchased this large doll house nearly two years ago, I've had big plans for it...I just didn't know what.  It was ugly blue with ugly blue trim.  About a year ago, I decided to paint it yellow, but it just looked terrible.

Yesterday, it hit me, I LOVE mod podge... I love scrapbook paper... I love that VERY large doll house....why not bring them all together to make something fun and cheerful for the kids that fits our personality?!

This project was completely free as I used everything I had on hand.
Mod Podge (I love the glossy kind), scrapbook paper (the thin kind), scissors, exact-o knife, and paint.

I would have gone with different patterns, but I used what I had on hand (because I have been sick and haven't left the house in 6 days.).

So here it is.... A pink and green doll house that invites you to enjoy hours of fun and imagination!

The next project will be 'wallpapering' the inside :)

Sorry for the lame photography skills, this picture does not do it justice, the paper that I used each has different patterns and you can't pick any of that up here. I couldn't get enough light or the right angle in the play room.  I guess you'll just have to come on over and play with it yourself! ;-)

And in case you are wondering...the kids love Love LOVE what has become of the doll house.  Buddy said "this is my most favorite thing in the whole house!", KennaCat said "It's BEAUTIFUL!!" (In her very enthusiastic tone)
